MEDIUM - By accepting the MEDIUM customer reduces his/her responsibility. MEDIUM fee is in addition to Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) and Theft Waiver (THW) fees or Loss and Damage Waiver fee (LDW):
Customer is obliged to fill in Europcar Damage Report and follow General Terms and Conditions of Rental Agreement.
PREMIUM – By accepting this insurance package customer reduces his/her responsibility to 0.- EUR in case of damages or theft.
Economy and Compact vehicles – 23.60 €;
Intermediate and Standard vehicles – 27.23 €;
Customer is obliged to fill in Europcar Damage Report and follow General Terms and Conditions of Rental Agreement.
Border Crossing Fee – The Renter is obliged to pay a Border Crossing Fee of 7.87 € per day with 7 days maximum for 55,06 € in addition to rental price if taking the vehicle out of Latvia. The fee is included in Drop-off Charges in case of One-way rentals.
Additional Driver Fee - Additional fee for each additional driver is 5.13 € daily, with 10 days maximum for 51.30 €.
Location Service Charge - calculated into the rental price.
Winterization Fee - A fee of 5.13 € per day will apply to all rentals from 15th October to 15th March to cover fitting Europcar vehicles with winter equipment and tires.
Delivery & Collection - The fee for delivery or collection in Riga is 30.50 € per service during office hours. Out of office hours the fee is 38.72 € . The fee for delivery and collection outside of aforementioned towns is subject to agreement with Europcar.
After Office Hour Fee - A fee of 38.72 € applies for services out of office hours (18:00 – 24:00 and 00:00 – 09:00).
Young Driver Surcharge - An additional fee 7.00 € per day, with 7 days maximum for 70.00 € applies for all drivers under the age of 25.
To EE Tallinn, LT Vilnius – 114.95 € per rental;
To EE Tartu, LT Kaunas, LT Klaipeda, LT Palanga – 114.95 € per rental;
Rental Period - Europcar charges (rental and any additional charges) are per 24-hour period from the time of rental. At the end of rental Europcar allows a further 29 minutes free of charge after the time of pick up. After the 29-minute grace period has expired you will be charged an additional full rental day.
Fuel Charge - All vehicles are fully fuelled at the beginning of rental. If the vehicle is returned with a less than full tank of fuel, the Customer is obliged to compensate for the missing fuel at a rate of 1.45 € per missing Liter and Refueling service charge / Battery charging service 20.00 €.
Fuel Purchase Option - In order to save time by not refilling the fuel tank at the end of rental the Renter may purchase a full tank of fuel at the beginning of rental, leaving refueling duties to Europcar. Unused fuel will not be compensated for.
All Vehicles can be equipped with following extras:
Child Seat - 8.47 € per day, maximum 84.70 € per rental;
Navigation Systems
Europcar offers Tom-Tom and Garmin GPS units for rent. GPS units include maps and voice guides are for all EU countries.
GPS rental price is 12.10 € per day with maximum of 7 days 84.70€ per rental.
Portable wireless router (Pocket WiFi)
Europcar offers Pocket WiFi units for rent. Supports speed up to 30Mbps and up to 10 WiFi enabled devices.
Price – 7.00 € per day, maximum 70.00 € per rental.
Customers having obtained Loss Damage Waiver and Theft Protection have following Non Waivable Excess:
Economy and Compact vehicles 1300.00 €
Intermediate and Standard vehicles 1700.00 €
Premium, Luxury, 4x4 and Minivans 2300.00 €
Fines & Penalties
- Europcar will charge 1983.60€ including VAT administration fee in addition to all direct incurred expenses:
1) using/returning vehicle in restricted country (in addition to all collection expenses);
2) for violation of standard rental agreement`s terms and conditions paragraphs 2(A) and 2(B);
3) for traffic violations which lead to confiscation of vehicle or its parts by legal authorities.
- For returning vehicle in restricted parking premises Europcar will charge 15.13 € including VAT administration fee in addition to all parking expenses.
- Administration fee in the event of an accident / damage – 38.72 € including VAT
- All Europcar vehicles are non-smoking, fine – 200.00 €
- Fine for lost vehicle keys – 400.00 €
- Fine for lost vehicle documents – 100.00 €
- Fine for not repaireable tire – 200.00 €
- Fine for lost or broken extra equipment – 200.00 €
- Fine for lost or broken vehicle interior parts and equipment – 500.00 €
- Dry cleaning of a vehicle interior – 200.00 €
- Fuel liter price – 1.45 € including VAT
Traffic Penalties
Penalties submitted by customer will be added to the Rental agreement and/invoice - Europcars administration fee will be added.
If the customer does not provide penalties during his rental and the rental agreement is terminated, then the client will be debited amounts equivalent to the penalties and the amount of legal costs and administration fee will be added.
Speeding and parking fines administration fee per fine is 36.30 € administration fee in addition to all parking expenses.
VISA, EuroCard/MasterCard, American Express are accepted as form of payment. A credit card is required as guarantee when using other forms of payment. At pickup, a guarantee-deposit is reserved on Customer`s credit card in the amount of estimated charge, price for full tank of fuel and 300.00 € to guarrantee coverage of costs whic cant be foreseen at the beginning of rental. Credit card is not a requirement only in case of contractual customers whose contract stipulates an exemption thereof.
Value Added Tax
All rates are given in EUR and include 21% VAT.

During rental period Europcar customers can turn to Europcars customer service and 24h Helpline. All needed contacts and phone numbers are provided to the customer at the Europcar check-out desk.
